Veeam Announced a Bunch of New Products

By September 8, 2016No Comments

On Tuesday, August 23, Veeam announced an array of new products for your backup environment to better suit the diverse needs organizations have. The powers that be at Veeam stressed the pressures of the Always-On business and how the technology always has to work – no matter what. In order to provide that Always-On availability, a responsive and easy-to-use backup and replication tool is important. Here are a few new products Veeam will be adding to their repertoire in order to better support the Always-On organization:

Veeam Availability Console

This is a way to aggregate all your Veeam instances into one console. This is great for managed services providers or large enterprises with disparate locations to more easily manage their backup environments through a one-pane-of-glass view.

Veeam Agents – Yes, Physical!

Veeam will be offering physical backup for Linux and Microsoft Windows. It’s built off of the technology used in the Endpoint Backup FREE product. There is a Linux beta out already and we’re expecting the Windows beta by November. This is really exciting for those who may have a mixed environment of virtual and physical since they can now bring their backups in under one umbrella.

Veeam Availability Orchestrator

This is a portal that assists you in executing your disaster recovery plan. Within this console you can update and document your plan. It also can automate your DR testing. Beforehand, you may have had to do a bunch of scripts or do testing more manually, but with this tool you can aggregate lots of it and then automate.Veeam_Availability-Platform_with_VAC_preview

Veeam promises a faster, more efficient backup and replication tool within their upcoming upgrade. We’ve caught wind of a few interesting features coming, and you can read about those here.
