As of January 1, 2021, any new Veeam clients or current clients who have not previously purchased any socket licensing are not eligible to purchase per-socket licensing for Veeam Backup and Replication or Veeam Availability Suite Standard or Enterprise editions.
Don’t despair if you currently have per-socket licensing. Existing customers will be able to purchase more per-socket licensing without issue. However, your per-socket licensing and support must still be active.
Additionally, Veeam’s Enterprise Plus edition with Production (24/7) support level will be the only per-socket option for new customers.
Please note that if you are affiliated with an existing Veeam customer with socket licensing and you procure through the same organization, you are eligible to buy per-socket licensing. However, if you procure separately (as many separate business divisions or branches might), you will not be eligible.
